Lack of Drinking on Children Beware!


Water is a vital element for the body. Unfortunately, water is often less considered in the daily intake. Though lack of fluids or dehydration can cause serious health problems, including for children.

"Dehydration is not lightly interfere with the function of the body only, but also disturbing psychological. Lack of fluid in the minor scale will cause fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, and dry mouth," said Samantha Heller, a clinical nutritionist from the Center for Cancer Care, United States .

Impaired concentration and mood instability are also associated with lack of fluids in the body. Various studies show that if the water content in the organs of the body decreased, it reduced organ function and body easily exposed to the virus or bacteria.

In a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that only 15-60 percent of boys and 10-54 girls in the United States who drink water as recommended.

Lack of fluid in children partly because they prefer a sweeter drink than water. Interestingly, research shows, children drink enough water it less sweet drink.

Heller said, 55-75 percent of our body weight consists of water. "We can not live without water for more than a few days because our bodies can not store water, so we need to replace fluids lost from the body every day," he said.
