What is LASIK?

Maybe some of you do not know what it is LASIK.LASIK (Laser Assisted In Situ keratomileusis). LASIK is an advanced technique of refractive surgery after Radial keratotomy (RK) and Photo refractive keratectomy (PRK).

LASIK uses a laser beam (wavelength 193nm) to form the cornea so that got the cornea that allows light right shadow falls on the retina called the macula.

Thus the vision would be sharp without the help of glasses or contact lenses. This reshaping of the cornea with a very high degree of accuracy because the calculation is performed with computerized diangnostik tool.

There are several types of disorders that can be suffered by person refraction, ie: nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), astikmat (cylinder). Disorders of refraction can be corrected with some ways: eyeglasses, contact lenses, or with newest Technology Laser Assisted In Situ keratomileusis (LASIK).

ACTION PROCEDURE

OPERATION LASIK done by creating a thin layer / section corneal flap, then this layer is opened and the bottom of the layer / flap, called strorma, irradiated with a laser to form the new cornea.

After completion of the next laser coating / flap was returned to its original covers the strorma to earlier position. Because the lining / flap is a living tissue, then in a few minutes will stick by itself without the need stitches.

WHAT Wavefront Guided LASIK?

Technological developments now allow people to be able to see stars hundreds of millions of miles away because it can eliminate the aberration (refracting) light with wavefront technology.

This technology was adopted to diagnose the eye, how much aberration rays entering the eye. Its aberration bigger, the less sharpness. Ray aberration in the eyes of each individual is different. With the tool ZYWAVW - Wavefront diagnostics technology, the laser treatment tailored to the circumstances of an individual eye. Like making the clothes made in "Tailor Made", which fits with each individual.

WHAT BENEFITS Wavefront Guided LASIK?

Global Multi-Center Study Results conducted by Bausch & Lomb, patients with better visual outcome percentage is more with the Zyoptix (wavefront guided lasik) compared with the standard lasik.

NEW TECHNOLOGY:
ZYOPTIX TISSUE SAVING BENEFITS

For those of you who have problems of high minus, there is now technology ZYOPTIX TISSUE SAVING and XP microkeratome . The latest technology from Bausch & Lomb allows someone with a high minus with a not too thick cornea, LASIK can be taken without leaving a negative or a cylinder.

The advantages of the technology ZYOPTIX TISSUE SAVING is the saving of corneal tissue where the laser beam is fired at the corneal stroma using 2 sizes of 2 mm and 1 mm, so that the sculpture produced less and produce a smoother surface.
