After Bariatric Surgery


No eating, cooking or baking will ever be done normally after bariatric surgery, this is what people believe, but this is no doubt it is false. What is, however, certain is that you will be learning to cook new healthy recipes for you and your family, without having to separate courses, as they will be very tasty.
It is extremely important to include proteins in the new meals, as they are necessary for maintaining the muscle mass and making the body flourish, especially if you are losing weight. Proteins also help you feel full faster and this feeling will not go away as fast as the full sensation created by sugar.
Now I will give you some tips on what foods should be changed and what are the best alternatives when you are at risk or you just want a healthier life:
One thing to change is the ground beef, for which turkey is a healthy alternative, used in meatloaves, meatballs, chili with veggies, no difference will be detected. Sour cream and mayonnaise may be substituted with the ordinary Greek yogurt, which is a non-gras alternative.
Even when it is sugar we are talking about, there are many sugar-free alternatives on the market today, and many are specifically designed for cuisine.
In desserts, sugar and oil can be replaced by unsweetened applesauce and mashed figs. Also, frozen cauliflower is a great substitute for mashed potatoes, steamed and tendered and with cream cheese onion.Chicken breast with cans of soup, onion, carrots and potatoes are a great source of proteins.
Life after weight loss surgery will be affected by many changes.
